appraising, title abstracts, estate issues, settlement and assessment issues? Why?
Second: Once you have investigated and determined the Brokerage firm that offers the level of services and benefits you require, then you should contact that firm and request a Realtor come to your home to discuss listing your property.
Third: Schedule a meeting, at your home, with a Realtor from the Brokerage Firm you have selected. Discuss the level of service you require, and sign a listing agreement.
Full Service/Discount; One size does not fit all. A Brokerage firm that offers a wide variety of services with different fee or commission structures, will allow you to tailor the services to meet your specific needs.
Full Time Realtors: Does the Brokerage firm have Full Time, Professional Realtors. Part-Time or weekend agents are not as capable of meeting your needs and expectations because their time and attention is divided with other duties and responsibilities. You should limit your search to Realtors who devote their careers to Real Estate.
Local Realtors: How long has the Realtor lived or worked in your area. While this may not qualify an Realtor automatically, it is important that your Realtor know the area, know the demographics,
Technology: Today's Real Estate environment changes rapidly. A Brokerage firm that uses Realtors who are savvy with today's latest technology, through the use of on-line tools, means you can expect nearly immediate e-mails about new listings and quick replies to inquiries regarding your questions.
Return Calls: How quickly can I expect return calls? A Brokerage firm that uses Realtors who take several hours or days to return your calls may not provide you with the level of service you require. Many Realtors hire "assistants" or "associates" who's main job or function is act as a buffer between you and the Realtor. Try calling a prospective Realtor several times (with general questions) before deciding which firm to list your property with and see how fast the Realtor returns your calls. This may be a good indication of the level of service you can expect in the future.
